Shadow City Outbreak Defense

Description
Two Modes, Two Pacing Styles
Shadow City Outbreak Defense splits its playtime between a story-driven campaign and a survival challenge. The campaign follows a narrative thread as you work to uncover what caused the sudden disruption in the city. Survival mode strips that away and replaces it with escalating waves of threats, pushing you to last as long as possible. The two modes share the same urban setting but demand different priorities: the campaign rewards curiosity and exploration, while survival favors caution and resource discipline.
Movement, Aiming, and Resource Loops
On PC, you move your character with the keyboard and aim or interact using the mouse. The core loop is straightforward: traverse the city, collect scattered resources, then spend them at the in-game store on upgrades and recovery items. That loop connects exploration to combat readiness. If you skip resource gathering, you will struggle later. If you over-invest in one tool, you may lack flexibility when the situation changes. The game supports both ranged tools and hand-held items, so you can keep threats at a distance or close in, depending on what you have purchased and upgraded.
Character Enhancement and Playstyle Fit
The character enhancement system lets you improve abilities over time, but the input does not specify a fixed skill tree or level cap. What matters is that upgrades are tied to the store and your resource balance. Players who prefer ranged engagement can lean into distance tools, while those who like close-quarters action can invest in hand-held options. Experimenting with different tools is part of finding what works, especially since survival mode punishes careless positioning.
Platform and Access
Released in October 2024 by Great Games Studio, the game runs through WebGL in modern browsers on PC, mobile, and tablets. No additional download is required. Full-screen mode is supported, which helps on smaller screens where the city layout and incoming threats need to stay visible. The browser-based approach means performance depends on your device and connection, but the design targets smooth play across those platforms.
